I chose to do an arrangement on Calm Before the Storm, which primarily appears in the Macalania Woods in Final Fantasy X. This particular track features a very prominent theme and somewhat repetitive chord progression, so I thought it would be interesting to try a theme and variations formal design so I could explore the many options and directions this track could take. One of the main things I wanted to maintain for this track was simplicity. I kept my instrumentation to flute and piano and I wanted to compose a fairly standard theme and variations to match my classical background. I believe it provides and interesting take on the piece while maintaining the integrity of the original. I hope you enjoy my arrangement of Calm Before the Storm!
